It is sponsored by the International Association of Geodesy (IAG) and the Pan-American Institute of Geography and History (PAIGH) and will be hosted by the Universidad de Concepcion (UDEC) and the Instituto Geografico Militar of Chile (IGM). The main objectives of the SIRGAS Meeting 2012 are to report the recent SIRGAS achievements, to evaluate the on-going activities, and to define new actions oriented to take part in the geodetic issues discussed in a global frame. Oral and poster presentations related to the following topics are welcome: - Improvements and maintenance of the SIRGAS reference frame; - Earth modelling based on the SIRGAS infrastructure; - Real time applications in SIRGAS; - Towards an unified SIRGAS vertical reference system; - Practical developments for the adoption of SIRGAS at sub-regional and national levels. In addition to the meeting sessions, a technical visit to the Transportable Integrated Geodetic Observatory (TIGO) of the German Federal Agency for Cartography and Geodesy (BKG) is scheduled. The attendance is free of charge; however, to facilitate the organizational issues, we kindly ask for registering through the on-line registration form available at www.sirgas.org. Dates to save: - July 15, 2012: Deadline for grant application. - August 31, 2012: Deadline for abstract submission (grant applicants must submit their abstracts before July 15). - September 15, 2012: Deadline for registration. - October 15, 2012: Distribution of detailed program and final list of participants.
