After this date, the listed receivers will continue to operate (i.e. track and record satellite signals), but the data will not be usable for any application requiring high precision and reliable positioning. The reason for this is an outdated base GPS time that will cause incorrect measurement data. By September 2022, these receivers will have been phased out for over 15 years. Dear colleagues,

Please find important message from Leica below:

This is an important announcement about the end of practical usability from September 24th 2022 onwards affecting the legacy GPS receivers listed in the table below.

There will be no new ME2 firmware released to extend their operating life.

Receiver Type Phase-out year
GX1210 2007
GX1220 2007
GX1230 2007
ATX1230 2007
ATX900 2007
GRX1200 Classic 2007
GRX1200 Lite 2007
GRX1200 Pro 2007

GRX1200 receivers using a newer generation of measurement engine, e.g. ME3/ME3GG, ME4, OEM7, etc.,
are not affected by this and will continue to operate as normal.

There´s probably only one IGS station affected: BRFT00BRA.
The station operator is informed, data submission will be disabled.

Best regards,
Markus
